Idle Speed © Scott Youngberg 2011
The slack tide
Makes for a good ride
Been stuck inside
Waiting for the sun
I know
When the wind blows
And the rain won’t go (away)
It isn’t much fun
But today looks like the perfect day
To launch my boat and sail away
No clouds above, the weather’s passed
The sea looks like a sheet of glass
Floating nowhere, feeling fine
No destination on my mind
Where I’m at is where I’ll be
All I need is idle speed
Won’t touch
My throttle
Just open
Another bottle
Slow Down
See things clearer
(When) The surface
Becomes a mirror
I can’t imagine starting her up
If I make a wake, it’s seven year’s bad luck
So I’ll stay on hook and if I need
I’ll only move at idle speed
Floating nowhere, feeling fine
No destination on my mind
Where I’m at is where I’ll be
All I need is idle speed
